We're Moving!

We are moving this Friday so I am frantically packing, cleaning and moving this week! I don't have time right now to explain this moving adventure but I wanted to post a picture of our new house. We are very excited to be moving here. The house is definitely an original and has some "quirkieness" to it but that's part of the charm! Once we are settled I will post more pictures and give some details, until then it's back to packing, cleaning and moving!

Beauty and the Beast!

Zack was in the high school's production of Beauty and the Beast. He did a great job and LOVED every minute of it! He played a village person, a plate, a mobster and was inside the invention making it work. It is a tradition after the final show to have the girls cake on a bunch of lipstick then storm the boys dressing room handing out kisses. I think he is loving this acting stuff more and more!

OUCH!

I will NEVER understand boy scouts and winter camping! It just doesn't make any sense to me!

Last Friday Ty was preparing to go on yet another winter camp out. He was told they would be hiking 3 miles in the snow to reach a cabin and to bring a sled to pull his equipment. Matt was going with him so I knew he would be okay.

Ty's sled doesn't have a rope on it so he asked Matt how to poke a hole in the sled to put a rope on . Matt was busy and told him there was a tool on his pocket knife he could use. A few minutes later we heard screaming. Yep he used his knife all right, just not the right tool and it ended up slicing his thumb pretty deep. The end result was 6 stitches and no camp out. Poor kid!

We are very fortunate to have an awesome family doctor who saw him immediately. It turns out he also had both ears infected. Ouch! He is feeling much better now!

You want me to do what?

So I have a new calling or I should say an additional calling. My first is Sunday school teacher for the 14-18 year old's and I love it. Then they asked me to do something I never saw coming, I think Heavenly Father is just so funny! Remember when Ty graduated from Cub scouts to Boy scouts? I told everyone that I went home and danced on the table that I would NEVER have to attend another boring pack meeting again. Guess what? They asked me to be the Cub Master! What? I never saw that coming! Now that the shock has worn off and I've had time to research, plan and decided we didn't want to move, I decided to embrace the opportunity and be the best Cub Master they have ever had. My biggest worry was I have to wear the uniform and tuck in my shirt. I haven't tucked in my shirt in 16 years! Oh well last Saturday was my first meeting, the Pinewood Derby. It went well and the boys had fun so I guess I will be tucking in my shirt once a month and doing silly things all for a group of 8-10 year old boys! Next up Blue and Gold.
