A Great Day!

Today was a great day for me. I was able to celebrate a "beginning" and an "ending" with a few fun and relaxing moments mixed with some rewarding and productive moments.

This morning was my last workout with Trainer Jim. Yup after working out 4 times a week here http://jimsgym.net for the past 2 1/2 years it was time to take a break. I have mixed emotions knowing I won't be going to the gym tomorrow, I feel a little like a teenager skipping class. I am not planning on taking a lot of time off but I seriously need a break. The past few months I have really felt tired. The first thing I'm going to do is go see my chiropractor and get my wrists, knees, hip, and neck all put back where they should be then I'm going to take a week or so off. When I start back up again I'm going to try to improve some skills starting with my outdoor running. I am not a great runner and my hip hurts at about 2 1/2 miles so I'm going to not worry about time and instead work on distance. I also want to be able to do fantastic military push ups.

For fun the boys, my mom, sister and nieces all went and saw this,

We were the only ones in the theater which was pretty fun. The kids could spread out and sit where ever they wanted. It was a fun afternoon with the cousins.

During the movie I got a call from an agent I have been working a short sale with and he said the bank approved everything and we could close by Aug 15th. Yea, usually short sales take forever but this one has been great so far (knock on wood, cross your fingers or something)!

The best part of the day came at 7 pm when Matt and I got to sit in the Bountiful Temple and watch our Wonderful friends who we love so much, be sealed to their beautiful little girl! We felt so privileged to be invited to celebrate this miracle with them. It took them 3 years to adopt this beautiful little girl, yes it was a miracle!

After the temple Matt and I had dinner at The Mandarin. It was an almost perfect day.

What almost perfect? Did I forget to mention that while I was in the shower this morning Matt decided the stairs were too squeaky so took them out! Yes, that's what I said we have no stairs from our kitchen area to our family room and I had to do some fast talking to convince him not to take out the upstairs stairs as well! All day we were walking out the front door, down the outside stairs, through the garage and in the garage door to get to the family room. I'm sure our neighbors were trying to figure out why we kept going out one door and in another. Oh well at least the last of our carpet should be installed next week, just another adventure in renovation.

I'll post pictures later after I find them on our backup drive. Bleepen virus caused havoc on our computer!

Father's Day

Ty decided to make lunch for Matt for Father's day. He wouldn't let me in the kitchen to help and kept his menu top secret. We could hear him banging things around, sizzling, splattering, and chopping away. I was a little nervous and would occasionally ask if he was okay to which he quickly reassured me he had it under control. When he announced it was time to eat, I think we were all pleasantly surprised.

He made omelets with cheese, green onion and ham and served it with left over Panda Express. Clever kid. I must say his omelet was great and his presentation outstanding!

Working Man!

While Matt and Ty have been busy with rugby Zack has been a working man. That's right thanks to Uncle Greg, Zack is now a salary earning, hard working, responsible working man. You can find him 5 days a week on the corner of one of Greg's Cricket stores waving a sign and handing out flyers.

Rugby

I''m pretty sure you all know about Matt's new obsession. That's right rugby has officially taken over our house! It all started last year with a combination of things. 1. Ty saw the movie "Forever Strong" and 2. The running UTE's were in the national televised sevens tournament that they ended up winning! After these two events Ty was relentless in finding a club to play with. He found some in Salt Lake but I told him that was too far to drive him everyday for games and practices. After a lot of research we found a club that was going to get started in Davis county for the summer.

The Davis county "club" turned out to be 7 players ages 8-12. Not much of a club but with a lot of work, phone calls and practices they are growing. I think they are now up to about 11 players. Of course they needed a coach so Matt jumped right in . I can now say the work on our house has sadly, almost come to a complete stop. (and we're so close too, just one more room!)

May I present to you the Davis county "Flaming Silver backs".
Here they are before their first game trying to get "pumped up". Their season thus far has been one of bumps, bruise, learning, and large Tongans!

The boys are still having fun and getting much better, they even won a little white team from Utah county. That's right bring on the little white boys!
